Interested in working alongside the business leaders of tomorrow and helping to shape the early career of one of our talented students?
Anglia Ruskin University is delighted to be able to offer occupants and associates of The MedBIC the opportunity to recruit a Summer Research Intern on a part-funded basis for up to 8 weeks (full time) to work on a particular real-life business research project. Through the Summer Research Internship Programme, businesses can work alongside an Anglia Ruskin University student on a short research project to help the growth and development of their company. All of the admin, reporting and paperwork will be dealt with by Anglia Ruskin University, leaving them to get on with the real work of running and growing the business.
Projects can vary depending on the business and the faculty from which the student will be chosen, and they may include research activities such as researching and developing a funding bid for the development of a new product; market research around competitors and differentiating the company from their rivals; identifying a new market for new/existing products; researching new methods for undertaking an innovative activity within the company and recommending various options; or researching and developing the company’s online and social media strategy.
The programme also offers invaluable experience to our undergraduate students who can gain opportunities to work alongside a commercial business in an industry or organisation that they want experience in, thus enhancing their employability and confidence levels.
The interns are paid £250 per week for placements up to 250 hours. Half of this is paid by the SME and half by Anglia Ruskin University. These research projects will be based at the business premises and with the agreement of the student and business can run during either of the following dates:
- Semester Programme: part-time, from April to July 2018, 4 months with circa 2/3 days per week.
- Summer Programme: full-time, from June to July 2018, 2 months/8 weeks.
Each student will be awarded £2,000 on completion of 250 hours unless specified otherwise stated. To be eligible for these the student must be a current full-time Level 5 student at Anglia Ruskin University who is a UK/EU National and not been awarded a bursary funded research position previously.
To apply to host a bursary funded Research Intern, you simply have to complete a short application form and develop a brief project outline before end of March 2018.
